An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctors Away

We may have heard “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” either from our moms, doctors, or television shows that we watch. Aside from the fact that it rhymes and is fun to say, does it really make any sense?

Apple, a fruit belonging to rose family, is one of the healthiest fruits there are which carries a lot of health benefits. It keeps one’s body disease-free. Since it is filled with soluble fiber, it reduces the risks of having intestine-related diseases. Also, it believed that it lessens the possibility of having a cancer by as much as half. Make It Happen With Maybelline

Recently, I’ve been really loving Maybelline’s products and here are a few of my favorites from their brand. Disclaimer: I am not a professional beauty guru and the following comments and impressions are based solely from my opinion. Additionally, this post does not give a thorough evaluation about the products and is not sponsored.

1.) Maybelline ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks. Out of all the drugstore lipsticks that I have tried, this is by far the best. I’m so in love with their nude shades, most especially Nude Nuance and Clay Crush. It has a buttery feel when applied on the lips and also, it glides on easily. It has a velvety, matte finish that you can wear throughout the whole day. My lips didn’t feel dry when I used this. Perfect for an everyday look! I would rate it 10 out of 10.

2.) Maybelline Dream Satin Two-way Cake. What I like about this product is that it feels light on the skin when applied unlike any other drugstore pressed powder. It also gives a flawless coverage when partnered with Maybelline’s Dream Satin Liquid Foundation. Since I have a morena skin, I use the B3 shade for both the products. I will not recommend this to people with oily skin type. As for me with an extreme oily skin, I oil up profusely after an hour of application. You might want to try Maybelline’s Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Powder. I would give it an 8 out of 10

3.) Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm. I must say, I’m not actually a fan of this lip balm. Is it just me or it really feels strange on the lips? On the brighter side, I also love this because it gives a natural pink tint finish (I have the Cherry Kiss flavor). When I’m not in the mood to apply lipstick, I use this one as a replacement. This is an 8 out of 10.

4.) Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser. Finding this product was tiresome. I had to go to different stores as it is always out of stock but this primer gave justice! I super duper love the product because it blurs out big pores on my cheeks. My foundation also lasts for an entire day, thanks to this primer! I would give this a 9 out of 10

5.) Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper. Okay, can we just talk how much I love this eyebrow product! It can either be in a pencil form or powder form. Moreover, it gives a natural-looking and full eyebrows. I’m lost for words on how great this product is. I would rate this 10 out of 10.

6.) Maybelline Hypercurl Volume Express. To my surprise, this mascara makes my eyelashes volumized and it does look fuller when applied. I honestly love this more than my Dolce&Gabbana Volumized Lashes Mascara. It is water-proof and smudge-proof so it lasts longer. I would give this product a 10/10.

That’s it for my favorite picks from Maybelline. You can wear these products anytime, anywhere, and as much as you want to. Always remember, Make It Happen with Maybelline!

A train of unfiltered thoughts vol. 2

It’s just one of those nights where I lie in my bed, awake. Million of thoughts is the sole reason for my sleepless soul. I often think about things that gives no answer to itself. I reckon of countless possibilities in life and of what’s in store for tomorrow. There i came thinking, how is there a tomorrow? How do we know there’s life the next day? I remember His greatness. He gives life surely. He gives life kindly. And day by day, he reveals His greatness in the most delicate way. He keeps me going. When life is tough, the way it always is, He serves as my strength. With high hopes of surviving from life’s daily struggle, I run to Him. I am deeply grateful for having to experience the throes He continuously provide. Its absence will not culminate hard work and self motivation, truly. I will unceasingly thank Him for His enigmatic works of wonder. At certain times, when life is unusually blissful, I unknowingly neglect how He worked His way to where I stand. I would often disregard the mere actuality that I arose from the lowest ground existing and my triumph will not come about if wasn’t for Him. There are instances where in I would look down from the mountain I stand on without feeling neither satisfaction nor gratification. My psyche shouts for more. I would forget that in order to climb another one, I must go down again. More often than not, I feel hate for having to descend, for having to interact with people of lower standing. I conceal my unnecessary slurs for them. But I forgot that we are of the same standing, we strive for a similar aspiration, and we are His people.

A train of unfiltered thoughts vol. 1

She stands in the most intimidating way

She walks as if a red carpet is beneath her

She speaks like she knows everything

She laughs as if no one is watching her

She acts like no one is judging her

She thinks in the most interesting way

She does best in all things

She is the person you’ll rarely meet out of the 7.5 billion people in this world

She is unique

And that, she is aware of

She is one of a kind

She deserves everything best there is

She hides under another person

In the most subtle way, she cries

Her roar of pain is so loud that you could barely hear anything

Her tears are precious like a diamond that you could not see it

She’s so good in everything

That even her feelings, she was able to keep it hidden

Journey To Hong Kong: A Week-Long Vacation Pt. 1

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset
The view of Hong Kong Island from Kowloon Peninsula

DISCLAIMER: This blog will have 2 parts. First one will be a narrative about what happened before we went to Hong Kong (like how we planned our trip, how we booked our tickets, etc.). As for the last part, I will be talking about the entire experience of our Hong Kong trip such as the places we visited, food we ate, and the stuff that we bought. Have fun reading!

Last January of 2016, my family and I were thinking of having a vacation somewhere else in Asia. I, being the eldest among my cousins, was in charge to look up airfare promos online. I asked for my aunt’s help and we came across Cebu Pacific Airline’s website. Luckily, we saw a not-so-expensive flight going to Hong Kong and so, we booked it immediately. April 3,2016 is the date of our departure which is the day after my Junior High School Graduation.

Early morning of April 3,2016, I received a news that NAIA Terminal 3, the airport we are heading to, had a power interruption and multiple flights are being cancelled. Being apprehensive about the situation, I hastily called NAIA and asked if our flight will be cancelled (P.S. the departure time of our flight was 7:30 am). Fortunately, the manager said that it is not affected. We went to the airport at around 4:30 am and arrived there by 5:15 am. We paid for the terminal fees, checked in our luggages and went to the waiting area. Everything’s going smoothly not until when we heard that our flight be delayed. It was fine for me at first as I thought it will be only for half an hour. In contrary of what I expected, our flight was delayed for almost 3 hours. We got inside the aircraft at around 10:30 am and we arrived Hong Kong International Airport at exactly 11:46 am. We got out of the airport and rode a bus going to Tsim Sha Tsui. The ride took us an hour and it really made me dizzy. We checked in at Imperial Hotel in Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. The rooms were nice and it was very affordable especially for big families like us.

During our first day, we stayed at the hotel and took a nap. Evening came when my mom and I decided to take a walk within the vicinity of the hotel. Before we return back, my mom wanted to buy food from McDonald’s but since I don’t like McDonald’s, I left my mom there and walked alone going to our hotel. I planned the next day’s itinerary since we don’t have a tourist guide with us. After doing so, I went to bed and had a good night sleep.

This is all for the first part of the blog. I will be posting the second part on some other day.

Exploring Bicol (Caramoan, Camarines Sur, Albay, etc.)

Last May of 2016, my family and I visited Bicol because my aunt and her kids came home from America. I was beyond excited that time ‘cos I knew we’ll be indulging ourselves on a lot of trips. Booking a good hotel that can accommodate 16 persons is very hard (yes, my family is big).  We almost didn’t push through our plans due to the difficulty of hotel/resort booking. Fortunately, my aunt was able to find a cheap but nice resort in Caramoan. Caramoan is located in Bicol Region particularly in Camarines Sur. It is made up of multiple islands which composes of white sand bars, tranquil lakes, deep caves and coves, etc. It is not that popular yet unlike Boracay.

May 25, 2016 — the day when we left the house. After a 10-hour drive, we first went to Peñafrancia Basilica located at the outskirts of Naga City in Camarines Sur. It is a humongous church that is believed to have a miraculous Mama Mary Statue. We stopped by there for an hour and decided to continue on our trip. The road going to Caramoan was really horrible. We had to cross 15 mountains (at least) just to get there. And P.S., most of the road wasn’t cemented plus it’s very steep. But when we arrived there, I realized that the 14-hour drive was worth it. The resort we went to is nice and it has a peaceful ambiance. Evicted members from the TV show, Survivor, are staying there as well. For lunch, we had a buffet and everything was fresh from the ocean. Not until when the resort had a power interruption. The electricity was out for 4 hours and everyone’s complaining. Let’s add the fact that it’s summer so it’s scorching hot. We decided to go on an island hopping that day.

We got back at the resort at around 6:00 pm. Fortunately, the electricity is back. We slept early because we will be going again on an island hopping the next day. On the following day, we went onto 4 more islands. The beach was breath-taking and priceless. I cannot describe into words how beautiful it is and how thankful I am for being there. The pearly white sand, the scrumptious seafood, the cotton candy-like clouds, the crystal clear water are a perfect combination. God’s beautiful creation, indeed!

3 days of being in Caramoan feels like heaven. The day has come when we had to leave and go onto the next trip which is Albay, Bicol. Ever since I’m a kid, I can only see Mount Mayon in pictures over the internet. Mount Mayon is the most popular and perfect cone shape volcano situated in Legazpi,Albay. I never knew that seeing Mount Mayon and Cagsawa Ruins in person would be jaw-dropping. I took a lot of pictures using my Fujifilm Instax Mini 70. The whole trip was extremely good because my whole family grew closer together and it’s nice to  take off some time from work. Cheers to more family vacays!💕
